Just a thought, but don't some folks who believe in a guardian angel hovering next to them do much the same thing. I owned a bookstore and would have people buying books who told me they carried on a conversation with their angel.

I think a sad moment if we need to look to holograms for company. To say that they will be emotionally invested in you is a fallacy. They are programmed to follow an algorithm and nothing more. It’s yet a further disconnect in our society from engaging with one another. It may be useful with the elderly in nursing homes that are lonely and have no family and can’t physically get out.
