Drove three hours each way to my oldest daughter's house yesterday to deliver a horse. On the way back I stopped at the Guitar Center north of Salem OR to take a break. In the back is the acoustic room, somewhat soundproofed from the rest of the store. I like to play the cheap guitars till I find one with great tone and playability. (Yes, it is possible) I was finger picking thru some Muddy Waters tunes when this guy came over and asked me where I perform. Since I have never performed anywhere, I replied "I guess...here." He seemed insulted. Like I tricked him. He kind of stomped off with a huff. Sorry guy, I only perform for my own enjoyment. At my age, my only musical goal is to become a slightly better than mediocre picker.

I'm in the same boat. I picked up the guitar about 5 years ago and have not advanced nearly as fast as my son who is now an outstanding player. I guess my old brain is as stiff as my old joints.....
