Stop Corporate Welfare
"The Stop BEZOS Act says for every dollar of federal assistance a worker gets, the company that employs them will be taxed that amount"
Bernie laying some bedrock.
There has got to be a simple formula to stop subsidizing billionaires who thrive off the backs of slave wages and subsequently all of us. I don't appreciate adding to their ferrari collections.
There is. Stop allowing unlimited corporate campaign contributions. Ending Citizens United is another of Bernie's big fights right now. Or at very least require higher transparency of contribution sources so we know which politician serves which corporate interests.
Elizabeth Warren has proposed a bill that would change the structure of corporations valued over 1 billion dollars. It entails putting workers (40%) on the board of directors, changing the mission statement for corporations from one that predominately favors shareholders to one that recognizes the social stake these corporations have in their communities and changes CEO compensation.
they will no longer employ anyone who gets fed assist
This. Right here. This is how it'll look by the time it gets passed, and be how business deals with the issue. And as long as unlimited corporate campaign contributions are a thing, the government will be overtly working to the benefit of its corporate sponsors. Never underestimate the ability of career politicians to warp programs intended to benefit citizens to benefit them instead.
OR the government will just make it nearly impossible to successfully apply for and receive assistance. Some states in the South already make it almost impossible to get disability or unemployment.
This kind of mentality. No money for those public spongers but the wheels of industry must keep turning no matter the cost to the taxpayer.
The wheels of industry are turning with government help, but they'll tell you how it's the market and that they are geniuses for being self made.
It's bogus or it's the Craig T. Nelson syndrome. Craig famously said that when he was on welfare that nobody gave him a handout. That's what we are dealing with.
