Discussion question: If you could go back in time 200 years ( 1818 ) WITHOUT BRINGING ANYTHING BACK WITH YOU, what could you show people to prove you are from the future?

The point...

I assume we must be able to take knowledge with us, otherwise we'd arrive in 1818 without knowing we were from the future. Therefore, I'd convince them by describing the outcome of historical events then taking place as well as wowing scientists with my amazingly advanced understanding of things with which they were only just getting to grip. I'd also travel to Germany to meet Baron von Drais who patented the first bicycle that year (he called it a Laufmaschine, and he invented it because a the eruption of Mount Tambora in Indonesia had caused crop failures in what became known as "The Year Without A Summer" and people had to kill and eat their horses to avoid starvation) and tell him about chain drives and pedals, because it took another 50 years for anyone to think of that and make the bicycle useful.

That's really interesting, thank you for playing.

Demonstrate some positions from the Kama Sutra lol

It was written in the third century so they had info. Just hadn't made it across the pond. But I like the way you think... ?

Ah. @Donotbelieve touches a good point. The differences and diminution of language would be another evidence. And scientific knowledge a little ahead of its time. Now I'm influential enough to really maim the space-time-flying-spaghetti-monster continuum.

The Doctor will love the challenge of trying to sort me out.

Interesting agenda. Going right to the American Spaghetti monster. What about the Vatican's dominance?

@Fibonacci1618 - The Vatican holds sway here on the earth, in the dust. The Flying Spaghetti Monster has appendages al dente beyond this mortal rotini. FSM would already be the One by whose sauce I was grated to travel back through a 200-year-long macaroni. I know this is an unpopular belief, but knowing I am in, with, and under the Spaghetti touched by His noodly appendages, I am endowed with the massive meatballs to profess.

@DoDapper Funny. Must get exhausting trying to out wit yourself everytime.

@Fibonacci1618 - I do always win. Mostly I pat myself on the back for saving the wind from worse uses. Like Trump talking.

The scar down my spine, the hardware on my spine just barely acessible to feel, the precision of my tattoo. Then I'd likely catch and die from some minor 1818 illness. I've never experienced dying 170 years before my birth.

Perhaps telling everyone that you are from the future may not be a good idea .

That's not really playing along now is it?

I'd just grab a guitar and start playing something.
