Welcome here, I see you live in Gateshead, you should be safe enough there from persecution. Nobody in England is going to care if you are atheist. The UK is getting less and less religious. There may be a branch of Humanists near you or you could contact the National Secular society. You will find that most British born people are not really religious anyway, so just go and join a club or hobby group....maybe an English language class and you will meet people who may become friends.
