There may be some statistics somewhere but I haven't been able to find them. Is it true that most millennials are pulling for Kaepernack, and most "older generation" are opposed? Are millennials more liberal? Are more agnostics pulling for Kaepernack and non-agnostic against Kapernack?
Here is the question. Vote yes if you think most agnostics are for Kaepernack, and no if you think that is not the case. Try to explain your vote if you can. Thanks

I do believe agnostics are more likely to support Kaepernick. I have always seen a fundamental connection between flag wavers and religious people. They both tend to be insecure about their own life. They need some artificial magical thing to protect them and make their existence feel special. The flag and Jesus fit the bill perfectly for them. And if someone does not treat their idols as holy, they are offended.

Agnostics believe in freedom more. Older people seem to be more disgusted and hypocritical in their thinking. However, at a fundamental level I don't think millenials fully understand the gravity or the price of freedom

2

I think those with critical thinking skills understand what Kaepernick is doing and realizes it has nothing to do with lack of respect for the troops or flag.

2

I think people concerned about free speech are for the right to protest.

I voted yes because roughly 85% of those on this site appear to identify as a leftist/progressive. I can say this much personally, I am not a millennial and do not follow anything Kaepernick does sports wise or elsewhere.

i don't think it has anything to do with belief or disbelief in gods. it has to do with understanding what kaepernick is doing and why we even sing the anthem at sporting events. meanwhile, i am 66 and a half years old and i am with kaepernick all the way, and i don't even watch sporting events!

There are several metrics that can be used to measure the effects of Kaepernick's protest and its impact on Nike after the organization chose him as the face of their new advertising campaign. Last October 5, (before the ad campaign),
On 10/5/17 the Washington Post reported a well designed study by GenForward Survey that found that aggregating all the data, 38% approved of the protests. HOWEVER, African American youth between 18-30 approved at a rate of 90%, Latinos at a rate of 69%, Asians at 63%, an Whites at 46%. The percent for all millenials was 59%. This, of course is before the Nike campaign.
Has that changed? YPulse (dated 9/12/18), an advertising site reported a study looking at perceptions of Nike since the ad campaign launched. Before the ad campaign came out, Nike was the most favored brand among millennials. After the ad, the brand improved in popularity, perception of supporting good causes, being talked about, and whether they would use the brand improved. Other brands measured were Adidas, Jordan, Reebok and Under Armor. The Ledger-Enquirer examined the 'myths' about Nike, Kaepernick, the NFL, Trump, and police shootings. "Ace Metrix reported that the ad is a huge hit, and a success with millennials , scoring more than $150 million in 'buzz' alone."
A caveat -- these are ones that are readily available online and look to be acceptable in their methodology and interpretation of the results, but I haven't seen the actual data.
But all indicators show that the millennials are behind NIke, Kaepernick, and the protests.

The score is already 4-0 "yes". I guess someone might feel that most everybody, regardless of belief in God or whatever are pulling for Kaepernack. This may be true, I dunno. At any rate, I don't see any evidence that his protest has had any desired effect. I do think his protest has probably increased the identification of a real problem we have in America, but has also alienated others.
I suppose at some point there will be some statistics related to how people feel about this situation. The statistics will probably be from a much larger poll and done by a much more reputable source.
By the way, agnostics are the small minority when it comes to religion (or rather non-religion) in America.

I personally do not back Kaepernick.

Yes, his actions may not have changed things a lot . But change takes time....and more awareness of the problem is where you start....just like in the early civil rights movements. I am old enough to remember that quite well. And originally many people were alienated by that too.

Increasing visibility of a real problem in America and getting people talking about it is the desired affect. I am not a millennial, but I think he found the perfect way to highlight a very real problem.

Whoaaaaaa, where did the racism thing come from? I think a person can be against what Kaepernack is doing without being a racist. I am an old white agnostic, but I can't help being either one. I am not a racist.
If you want proof go to "Start Over" on Facebook. The page is over two years old.

or you know are just nicer people who don't try to hide their racism behind somethng else

I think most agnostics are pulling for Kaepernack, not because they are agnostic, but because most agnostics are mellinnials. Mellinnials are more liberal. They are more likely to hate Trump and the republican party.

I'm not a millennial, and while there were better candidates out there, I'm fine with Trump.
