We have book,magazines and other means of storing information,but experiences seem to be the only way we humans learn skills.Yes,we will fail,but isn't life full of failures at some point? Failing health,ambitions,but we persevere somehow.....

not to play devil's advocate (english is SO full of religious references!) but i learned how to sew by reading the adventures of huckleberry finn, and i learned how to play marbles by reading seymour: an introduction.

I think it depends on your definition of "masterpiece". I believe we evolve through learning (experience and knowledge). For most of us we are and must never be complete.
