Is anyone else using tracfone, and still sane? its customer disservice is disgusting. i am looking for a new cheap carrier. to give you an idea of what cheap means, something like $10 per month. i don't need unlimited minutes. consumer cellular sucks too. not them! thanks.

I have used tracphone for years, find them not only cheap but reliable. Just upgraded to a smartphone from them, $24.99 at Walmart, does every single thing my brothers $800 Samsung does, no contract, $25 for 2 months unlimited text & calling. Plus Spider Solitaire.

i HAVE a phone. i don't need a new phone. i need a new service. i hate tracfone. i'm glad it works for you but i have used it for years too and it has sucked the whole time.

@genessa in my 70 years, I find that you pay with money OR you pay with time

@AnneWimsey indeed. but if you do not HAVE the money, then that information is less useful than it should be.

g

@genessa so then the Time in this case is you on the phone to customer service, right?

@AnneWimsey yes. time i have. i may not like spending it but i HAVE it. the money i do not. the printing press in the basement is broken.

Let me know if you find something good.

I use Verizon it's not cheap but it's dependable and I can make a phone call anywhere in the world

not cheap is a dealbreaker. we are on a fixed income. that is why i am looking for cheap.

I've used them for about 15 years and still do. You end up doing a bit more work when you're transferring to a new phone or if you're in need of service. I have had little problems and you can't beat the price. It did take a little time to get used to the customer service since there are no physical stores to go to for help.

i spent over a month trying to get them to put me back on a plan they took me off of for no reason, and at the end of that time they said they had succeeded and i was now back on the plan. my minutes ran out today. i called to ask why, since i don't use the phone that much. that's when i found out they had lied and never put me on any plan, so i was just using my saved minutes until they ran out! after all that work! i don't want to get used to being abused.

i've been their customer for many years. they did awful things in the past too. they just suck.

Textnow. The android smart phone was $10 and I pay $20 a month. Of course it's not great at that price, but pretty good.

i will look into it, but $20 is a lot for us, even though it's cheap for cell service. also i already have a phone. i just need to switch services. i don't want to pay twice what i am paying now. i just want not to be screwed the way tracfone screws its customers (notably, me!)
