Toilets around the world is an interesting adventure. There are many different ways to run errands...... China, hole on the floor. Thailand, no paper only a hose. Austria, the toilet is designed to catch the goods on a flat dry surface that gets flushed with a forceful water stream. Brazil, allegedly water spins down the other way around (quite frankly, I was to busy to notice). France, paper dispenser where you painfully get one square at the time..... etc .... etc
Yea, most of Asia is an experience. I used the hole in the floor climbing Mt. Fuji. You do what you have to do. In the Philippines, which was mostly Americanized I saw some pretty bad places (water buckets with rags). The Mideast and Africa are not much better if you get out of the tourist areas, and without a doubt you should do so.
@Beowulfsfriend Agree wholeheartedly on "you do what you have to do" ? No work around for that stuff.... Being around the world is quite an experience, isn't? Thanks for the comments fellow traveler.
It is a myth that water spins the other way. In Kenya, I checked it out. It took me a few toilets to find one using water, a valuable commodity there.
@IamNobody we, in a sense, share a name. Beowulf had no friends, so like Odessious I, too, am nobody. ?
@Beowulfsfriend hey, the more the merrier ?

I had read about the Indian government improving sanitation.
Why? Oh why, would two people want to share a love seat toilet. Pretty gross.
