Want to say hello to a Frenchman. Last year I shared this to encourage the interchange of conversation across the world. I hope that it is still running:

why would i? the french in france used to turn me off with their superiority complex ... until i didn't go there any more.
I knew a Frenchman from Alsace Lorraine who said exactly the same - his name was Lindberg, his grandparents German speaking. Another of war's sorry happenings.
@FrayedBear, exactly: the only "french" folks in france i perceived as friendly & hospitable were the alsatians (not the pooches!) that had gotten swept down south into the wine region during the war. they are more german than french.
@walklightly And yet I know an Australian who grew to 9 in Sydney with Italian neighbours. She was then dragged off to Germany and said it was a hateful place of cold unfriendly people who did not like children.
@FrayedBear, there you have it! good reason to be where i am, innit?
Why would you want to?
Brexiteer Len?
@FrayedBear No just not a fan of the cheese eating surrender monkeys
@LenHazell53 there I thought they were garlic chomping imbibers of watered down vino.
