Something that made me smile.

My life is busy to say the least. Single mom, three kids, PTA member, school volunteer, Girl Scout Leader, Girl Scout troop service unit mentor...plus more.

Becoming a single mom was not a big deal, I've been doing this for a while on my own. I just don't have to watch my ex play video games while I do everything. Granted he used to drive one kid to school, but lack of sleep is worth mental sanity. The bigger deal has been the distance friendships have gained. I still see most of my mom friends and am active in most activities.

One of the moms in my troop randomly compliments me on Facebook. She says she admires me and can't imagine doing half of my days. She has been one of our challenge moms, needy, pushing limits, overstepping boundaries during cookie season.. she can be difficult at times.

This weekend was our first troop field trip of the term. Five girls per van, the adults are my bff and I, we are co-leaders. I started the troop because I truly believe in the positive impact it had in my life and the other girls in my troop that needed stability and role models.

When I met the parents to return their girls at our Rendezvous spot on Saturday, the mom that can be a bit difficult tossed a card into my van. It was a thank you for everything I do. The rest of my weekend was a rollercoaster, as much as I try to not let ex get to me... he's a sick. I had to interact with friends that I haven't seen since I left my ex... and dealing with self care is hard work.

The gesture was something that really carried me through the rest of my weekend. Along with some new friends I have made on this site.
Thank you to you new friends...

That's all folks!
Happy Monday ?

Wow!!! You are pretty amazing, l couldn't imagine 3 kids on my own. One reason l admired my mom so much raising us 3 kids (and one of us deaf to boot) for 3 years after our Father died. We were lucky she caught our step dad when she did.. He was awesome.. My hat is off to you. ??

Thank you, I'm happy to not carry the extra deadweight and use my energy on constructive things instead ?
