Religion is where you suddenly decide that you have to worship something and it's either long dead or invisible or both. Then laws are passed saying you have every right to do that if you want to. From time to time you might claim persecution and others with more horrible nonsense than yours try to steal you away to their religion. It's bad enough on its own but gets lots worse if politics are involved.
