Goin to a cowboy church today because a friend invited me. We’ve been discussing religion and philosophy for years. I’m curious to see his perspective.
Have any of ya’ll done the same?
What exactly is a "cowboy church" ? I have never heard of that before. But yes, I have visited a lot of different types of churches. I have a fascination with religious art; whatever else they might be, the religious tend to be passionate with their art. I like to know the context of the pieces, so I try to go check out where they come from and stuff.
I have never been to a cowboy church, but back in the day I was likely to show up anywhere that I felt was safe! Alone or invited, I attended black churches where people went into trances and passed out! I wanted to know anything and everything! I just remembered, attending a lecture at the old Atlanta Civic Ctr, alone...when Richard Leakey, was starting his work, and had not found the record of violence in man from the archeology. That was back in my other lifetime...thanks for prompting my memories of what I previously considered a very limited life experience!
Ended up talkig about how people shouldnt devorce under any circumstances. I really disagree with that. I don't know why my freind goes there. He has no family tie to this church and he looked more bored than me. I would have been better off sitting at home. Oh well.
Never hurts to explore and learn. Now you can speak from experience!
