well where did this info come from im guessing it has its history in an anti vax website or similar trustworthy source

When I was a child I remember seeing kids hobbling around with braces on their legs. I don’t see that now.

As with most conspiracies, one has to ask "why would it be advantageous for a government to pretend this is true/untrue"? In this case, why would several world governments want to pretend medicine had almost eradicated a disease, and would they be able to maintain such a deception when hundreds of thousands of doctors would be able to make convincing claims that the disease had not been eradicated?
