So I voted for Bill Clinton in the 90's. I defended him when Republicans spent millions to impeach him for lying about an affair with Lewinsky. Looking back, I really think I was wrong to defend him. He was in a position of power over her. He was the p.o.u. and she was an intern. This was an abuse of power. I am sad to hear Hillary bringing this up again saying that Monica was an adult. She shouldn't be talking about this days before the election. Bill abused the power he had when he had an affair. Period. All right you all, bury me!!

If your comment was sincere, then I agree with you.

I still say I Do NOT Care which woman any man is "doing"...Kennedy, FDR, etc etc. As long as it is consensual & between adults. What has that ever had to do with job competence?!

I don't think it has to with his job competence but it does show a lack of good judgment.

@Trussell2069 no middle aged man has good judgement when it comes to young sluts!

@AnneWimsey Men are scum!!

While I am not going to take on defending Bill Clinton, I will say that, in the interview I saw a couple of days ago,(if that is the one you are referring to) Hillary did not bring this up again. The interviewer asked for her take on the Monica affair and she gave her answer. That is a little different to 'bringing this up again'.

Thanks for the clarification that she was asked. I just wish they both would stop talking for the next few weeks until after the election!

@Trussell2069 lol...sadly I have to agree. 😀

why pick on clinton? did eisenhower not have a position of power over his chauffeur, with whom he had an affair? did jfk not screw everything that wiggled when it walked? no, one doesn't justify the others, but it is curious that congress didn't go after any of them... until clinton, and they worked hard to get the goods on him too. as for accusations of rape, i tend to believe the women... unless i can SEE someone working so hard to get the goods on a guy (and a woman -- the smear against hillary began long before the white house). logic. and if we are concerned about all of this is ANY way, why are we not focusing on someone who is not only currently in power and accused by, what is it, 19 women now? not of having a consensual affair in which the power dynamic may have been an issue, but of violent rape followed by threats, and surrounding himself with people who are an awful lot like him. is he not a more urgent consideration? or do we hearken back a bit in order to avoid dealing with that?

I am not picking on Clinton. Republicans did this after they were successful destroying Gary Hart's political career. This is the Republicans smear campaign but I am just saying that he shouldn't have done this and put himself in the position. Men take responsibility.

@Trussell2069 you're right, he shouldn't have. nonetheless everything i said stands. (and the republicans set hart up, as it happens. they didn't catch him at something. they arranged for the change of boats, and had that woman jump into his lap. the guy who did it confesssed!)

g

@genessa I just read that about Hart! Apparently, a Republican op who was dying confessed to Hart that he had set him up. I wonder why Hart quit since he didn't do it? Republicans are nasty!!

@Trussell2069 he confesssed years later when he knew he was dying, not to hart but to someone who had worked for hart, and that someone kept quiet about it too, until he too believed he was dying, and then that someone told hart. then the someone didn't die after all (he did have cancer but it went into remission.) i don't think hart ever quite knew what had happened. but how was he to explain away being on a boat with a salacious name with a young woman in his lap? would he have been believed? he would have been mocked mercilessly and not believed. whether or not he should have quit, i understand why he did.

I am about as far left as you can get, and I absolutely never defended him. What I hate most is the hypocrisy of those who pursued the case so aggressively.

I guess that Hillary thinks that every boss in America should be allowed to have sex with adult subordinates.
