Well Stone the Crows, ScumMo has just come out and offered an APOLOGY to ALL the victims of Institutionalized Child Abuse.
I don't wish to seem hypocritical BUT it seems to come at a time when the LNP is standing on very shaky ground, one might even suggest the ground is beginning to undergo 'liquifaction.'
IS this just a covert, sympathy vote grabbing ploy or is it a REAL and Heartfelt, Unreserved APOLOGY?
Yes, an apology is a nice thing to make BUT has/will it go anywhere towards allieviating the suffering of the victims or ensuring that IT can NEVER EVER happen again?
And, what good is an Apology when the hierarchies of those Institutions ( read mostly Religious based Institutions btw) are either, a) not subjected to Legal Punishment,
b) allowed to continue on unsupervised, unnamed and shamed publicly, etc, and,
c) still permitted to decide and impose the levels and limits of compensations due to the victims?
