I am so angry! Angry because it's sad that people take for granted the things that other people in third world countries die for.

Example: I went to use the WC (bathroom). Someone left the sink water running. Like, how stupid do you have to be not to know you left the sink on? There was a younger girl who was anywhere between 20 -25 y/o, standing in front of the mirror a few sinks over from the sink that had the water running. As I was making my way over to turn the sink off myself, I asked her, "Do you not see the water running from the sink? You couldn't simply reach over to turn it off?" She says, "Oh, I didn't leave it open." I told her, "Neither did I, but I don't need permission to do the right thing and turn the sink off." She gave me a dirty look and walked away.

Wow!

Society is full of people who are not their brother's keeper and who do not deal with problems they did not cause. It is in fact collapsing because of it.

Most municipal water supplies are fairly expensive so it you waste water you will pay the price.

And there's the people with their lawn sprinkler running water down the street...

When I water my yard I use well water from my own property which is very hard and not really suitable for household use.

@Trajan61 Mine is also hard but still potable, fortunately!

I agree with you .People in this country are extremely wasteful.Besides water they waste food ,throw away good clothing instead of donating it .And it is not just the high income people .I had a tenant on food stamps that was always disposing of large amounts of food .

Oh, you cranky old dudes!

I feel you! Isn't it odd that people often think atheists are less likely to "do the right thing", as if one needed a Great Sky Daddy to supply consciousness. Kudos to you for saying something to that young woman, I probably wouldn't have. But then, I've come to expect neither (what might be considered) common sense nor common courtesy from the bulk of humanity. Yet while she was miffed at your statement, it's probable that you gave her something to think about.
I also get irritated when someone pulls 4-5 sheets from the paper towel dispenser. Like, you DO know those come from trees, right??

I share your dismay.

That is so frustrating! We basically live on the outer shell of this planet and on the 30% exposed land mass. Even if there are other planets that would support us, we can’t get there yet...if we don’t start conserving now we may not even get the chance to find out! ?

I think it would do this nation a world of good to spend time lacking. We haven't since the great depression, and have taken things for granted ever since.
