I stumbled off and got caught reading through some threads. A lot of people really get caught up in semantics. I’m an amateur astrologer, I can relate to karma, energy, I feel like some people can have certain strengths like empath, psychic, counselor, teacher, but I don’t associate that with a god, I think we are born with a ton of that naturally, and it is taught out of kids till by adulthood they’re ready for the kool aid or they’re fighting with every word or suggestion that blows by that has any connotation other than total disbelief. The long and short of it is I think there’s an aweful lot about ourselves we don’t understand, and by most society standards we’ve been discourage from delving into. Hell its right here with too much rigidity with the chest pounding atheism, that’s just like the dogma that chased me away from family due to religion. We are all different, many will pass an accident but some are compelled to stop and help, some will give time, aid or money to someone in need, others don’t give a shit. Is having morals a "god" thing, I think not, but some have, some don’t. I’m definitely agnostic when it comes to the concept of the big kahuna, other than that I’m flexible and tolerant. The cool thing is, there’s no right or wrong in my thinking because nothing can be proven either way.

To each his own, there’s a wide variety of beliefs amongst the people on her from what I’ve seen. I don’t recall doing any chest pounding, that wouldn’t be sexy.

Good post. I did not join for the disire to argue religion or God. I was looking for like minded people. If I find a companion, cool otherwise I enjoy the various groups.
Yes, there are some that what to split hairs, when I feel my head coming to a point I move on.
TY for posting.

Thank you!

Interesting, I’m sure if mankind can survive long enough all of the seeming unexplainable will be explained.

IMO if you attempt to legitimize claptrap by putting, for example, ""astronomy" with "astrology" you are attempting to pull the religious wool over my eyes, and I fail to appreciate that!
Call me a "chest-pounding atheist" because I stand firmly behind reason & science is pretty nasty, doncha think?

I agree with a lot of what you're talking about. I believe there are things about the human psyche that aren't explainable or haven't been studied enough. There are certain sensitivies or intuitions I've always had that I never understood and was made to feel we're "wrong," and none of it had anything to do with religion... My feeling as an agnostic is that people are free to believe or not believe, as long as they are not attacking, accusing, or controlling anyone else. There's more than enough of that from theists.

Thank you, you got my message.

telling people that they're chest-pounding, especially when most of us, almost all of us, are NOT, is not a good way to have your ideas taken seriously.

calling yourself an astrologer when astrology is not an under- or undeveloped human capability but a bunch of bunk also does not lend itself to having your ideas taken seriously.

the sad thing is, there ARE human capabilities that are under- or undeveloped, and you've named some of them. mixing that all up with astrology, a claim that you can't be said to be right or wrong because nothing can be proven (which is neither true nor cool) and an unsolicited insult against the people here is not exactly productive.

I guess I’m not done with my thought?. There are a lot of wells out there from the pre science days that were found by using divining rods, discoveries that began as hunches, creations brought about from someone’s visions. Like I said I’m not a believer in some god head and I don’t believe that when I lay this body down that I continue on, but I think humans have some amazing capabilities and there are many possibilities we will never fully understand. Just my thoughts.

You still don't explain why you call yourself an astrologer. What have your current beliefs to do with the relative positions of the stars, planets, etc?

@CeliaVL astrology is like a plaything for me, it’s almost like a statistical game. It’s not accurate or always right, but it has some value to me.

@Tony80223 Can you give an example?

@CeliaVL yeah, and thank you for for your desire to understand. Let me just use myself. I am a Cancer Gemini cusp ( I was born within minutes of the time that the sun moved into Cancer) as a Cancer (key phrase is I feel) I am a the zodiacal mother nurturer I spend a lot of time helping and nurturing others, I find joy in cooking for others because that’s a mothering thing to do. My Gemini influence (key phrase I think) is about mental energy for me, I am a chameleon I can make myself fit in anywhere, I love to talk and share with others, I’m an incredible fence sitter as I always see things from both sides. Now I also am Virgo rising (key phrase is I analyze) I get much too critical and internally way more critical of myself. I have an Aries moon (key phrase is I am) the moon is representative of your inner self, forgive me here but it is your soul sign, so in me Is a bit of the head strong ram, I can easily over do my thoughts and belief?. There are other planets and other aspects that have influence, but as you asked, here is an example. I don’t care that others are indifferent to it. It’s a personal interest of mine.
