If you go to the hospital, and your situation requires you to receive blood, would you consider race? I mean, if you are a black person in need of blood, would you agree to take the White person's blood if they let you know? or if you are a white human being, would you accept blood from other races? Are there known complications as a result of inter-racial donated blood?

NB: This is not a racially motivated post, I am just curious about this.

if I were in a position that I needed blood I would just hope they had my blood type

Since hospitals cross match blood for compatability, no... I would not be thinking about race. I would very likely have my mind filled with whatever event landed me in the hospital, needing blood.

Would not even occur to me to be curious. There is no difference in blood between races although there are some blood related disorders, such as sickle cell anemia that are more prevalent in one race than another. However, that sort of thing is screened for when blood is collected.
If it were an organ donation instead of blood, I would be curious about who it was from, not for race/ethnicity reasons but because another family (most likely) suffered a loss for me to live and I would be curious about that person, although it is often against policy to reveal who donors were.
