What? Scare some parents, with what?

just being a weird single adult with no kids, i don't know, i was just being silly. parents are always nervous around here. Super conservative, super southern religious wealthy Alabama city. I am not the regular guy. THat is enough to be considered "scary"

@joedaveblake Funny how parents are nervous around their small kids but as soon as they turn teenage and demanding the parents seem to give in.

it happens alot earlier than that now. My 10 year old niece has an Ipad and gets pretty much any thing she wants as long as... well, as long as she is awake and breathing. She is a smart good kid. But parents now are so much more afraid and coddling than they were when i was when i was 10 and way more than my parents generation. we got home from school and it was just be home by 6 for dinner and do your home work. that was it.

@joedaveblake That is such a shame that it is happening, no wonder that there are so many young people that are depressed. It is such a shock to them when mum and dad no longer can "rescue" them from life.

@Jolanta my parents are ridiculous. They are still part of my life because they never raised me. I raised myself into the bat$%!* wonderful amazing ball of !insane energy that has lived 5 lifetimes in 36 years they have not managed to cram into 65. Its sad but if you always follow the rules you kin of limit your self to a very limited walled road of mediocrity that is pretty F!^!!^NG LAME

@joedaveblake I too raised myself, my parents were always busy with their own problems and only paid attention if I was in trouble, inconveniencing them.

@Jolanta i was the same way, they only paid any attention when i was gone and then was out of the hous and then stuff happened. Like almost getting to almost getting killed killed in 2003!
they started to pay a little more attention after that

@joedaveblake I know what you mean. I am sad that seems like a horrific incident happened to you. I must say that my upbringing has made me very independent and strong but also a bit sad. Sad that I find it hard to open up completely to people who I love. Although I turned out to be a happy soul regardless off what happened.
