To the atheists
What’s your response to someone when he or she says “it takes just as much [or more] faith to believe that God doesn’t exist.”

I laugh tell them they are an idiot and I have no time to waste on someone that dim.

The faith they might be referring to is faith in the idea that the universe popped into existence by accident, that life began as a random chemical event, and that conscious awareness somehow arose because of the firing of neurons.

I chuckle, then either simply say ‘no, that’s not how it works’ or if I’ve got some sort of relationship with the person,(or time to kill) engage them in a compare/contrast exercise regarding faith and reason. Maybe quote Twain: Faith is believing what you know ain’t so.

I don't "believe" that God doesn't exist. I don't "believe" Zeus doesn't exist. I don't "believe" Vishinu doesn't exist. I don't "believe" unicorns don't exist. I don't "believe" Cthulu doesn't exist. I don't "believe" in the gravitational force. I don't "believe" in the theory of evolution.

The problem with the faithful is that they "believe" that faith is the only source of knowledge.
