It depends upon your definition, and what you're looking to get out of it. It can be. We are here to meet, talk to and learn from others of a similar tilt. Dating, or more accurately, finding that special someone is certainly one of my goals here.
As someone else here said, it's refreshing to not have to dig through all the right-winged holy rollers here to find the few like-minded people as you would on other sites.
