Came across a 70s movie called Red Sun starring Toshiro Mifune and Charles Bronson. It's not half bad.

no, but i have seen mifune in quite a few japanese films, notably those of akira kurosawa. i highly recommend them -- subtitled rather than dubbed, if possible. most people love the incredibly long but engaging "the seven samurai" and so do i, but there is a rare one called "stray dog" (not to be confused with peckinpah's "straw dogs" ) starring a young mifune (and relatively young takashi shimura, who is also in "the seven samurai" ) about a tokyo cop who loses his gun. good stuff!
