The god-believer who created this meme takes god's obvious guilt at allowing an innocent child to starve and turns the guilt around at the mortal human. This way the all-powerful god never gets any blame for the horrible things that always happen in the world.

Very nice . I like it , The only thing is what god they speak of. There are many to choose from and I let science be my god. science is the truth and the way. It is never wrong.

Doesn't bother me.. I just replace god with universe and it makes a weird kinda sense.

It's at least better than imagining god has it "under control"; at least it acknowledges that "if it is to be, it's up to me". So to me it's not disgusting so much as a pathetic attempt to frame actual reality through some sort of theistic lens.

In other words I would rank the disgust factor, if you will, roughly like this in descending order:

1. People who think the suffering of others is always all the fault of the sufferer somehow. (But usually want sympathy when THEY suffer)
2. People who think the way to alleviate suffering is to teach people their version of spiritual Truth
3. People who think they are god's instruments to alleviate suffering in practical ways

So really pretty low-level disgust compared to (1) and (2).
