Well curiosity killed this kitten...

Coined in 1817 by Scottish (@btroje you were close) by Scottish inventor David Brewster, "kaleidoscope" is derived from the Ancient Greek "beautiful, beauty that which is seen: from shape"

Now I want to go out and buy one! @KKGator I agree they are cool AF.

absolutely correct Nena. I spent my childhood years enjoying this simple wonders of optical wizardry.[ I must make one for my granddaughter, good idea. THANKS.

@madmac I was ready to run off and buy one myself...but seeing other posts...I might take a crack at making my own. 😉

not sure either, but I made a crude one for the grand kids years ago with aluminum foil and a paper towel roller and a couple other things. found instructions online.
