While people are hating on their neighbors for needing welfare, those who don't need it receive it 10 fold. Companies need to be required to pay a living wage or we are paying to subsidize their employees.

I worked at Sears for 15 years (I know, losing proposition) and after that long I was only making 11.40 an hour. They only have me 30 hours a week ( that was full time) and I paid over 400 dollars a month for health insurance for my son and myself. I had to go on food stamps because after all my bills were paid, I didn't have enough money for food. I didn't want to collect food stamps, but it's the only way I could feed my son. They wouldn't give me anymore hours except 4th quarter. I didn't have cable, but I had to have internet for my sons school work. My sister paid for my phone. I didn't have another income because my husband was a deadbeat dad. He had no job when I divorced him, and I actually had to pay him 250 dollars a month alimony, but only four 6 months. I want sitting at home watching TV, I didn't have a drug or alcohol problem. I was just trying to make ends meet. And the 11.40 I made at Sears, they called it capped meaning I would never make more in that job. Now in my county in Florida, 11.40 an hour isn't bad, but it still didn't pay for everything I needed to survive.

I feel for you. There are many people out there like you who are the unsung heroes of the working class!

I don't understand how the ultra rich think they're going to have a world they like living in after all us dirty plebes have starved to death or, lacking healthcare, died of treatable illnesses... Do they have specific knowledge of impending legions of robot laborers to pick all the crops and wash all the floors?? Is human cloning further along than I'm aware?? Or are they really just short-sighted morons??

I think that's where the love of power comes in. Saddest thing is they can't take it with them and it would be enough for a more equitable society in which everyone including themselves and their families would benefit. I can't understand them.

It is not going to change anytime soon. Even if there were an uprising and the wealthy, ruling establishment were overthrown, it would not take long before it was right back before the over throw as history has always shown. (IMHO)

I agree it's become to ingrained in our society and our politicians are bought and paid for.

As is the history of mankind, the haves conspire to control so that they can have more and more, always at the expense of the have-nots.

I concur.
