go, Mother Nature!

In reading other comments, I see both negative and positive comments. Let's face it, life is bitter/sweet, but focusing on the positives makes us feel good. You go outside and hear the birds singing and you see their beautiful feather colors. You marvel sat the colors, the songs, and the flight of these creatures. Then you see a ruffled bird sitting on the ground, eyes half closed, and its face invested with mites which are eating it alive. It's very disturbing. People say that when you die, that you no longer suffer. True, but you no longer laugh, love, or experience joy. That is why we need to always look for the awe and joy in nature, just to celebrate being alive.

I totally agree with you on that one. When I am out in wild, with nature, camping, riding my bike thru the winding roads of the country side, my soul becomes one with nature. Thats how I use the definition of soul/spirit... nature sets it free in a way that nothing else can.

Blind faith in nature is no different to blind faith in nature. While we may naturally feel at awe about nature, it is perfectly capable of deeds worse than humans can accomplish, and can be just as horrifically cruel as humans.

Awesome. There is a great Hitchens video where he talks about the awe we can have as atheist and wonder with the natural universe. And not needing religion to provide it.

I am at one with the Universe sitting in a grove of redwoods and listening to the sounds of nature that are all around me.

Sounds reasonable to me.
