After the 2016 vote I remember feeling like I had been punched in the gut. Many people in online groups expressed feelings of going out in public and wondering which of the people they saw and encountered were one of those trump voters. It also affected a lot of family holiday get togethers. I read where many people where not attending or not inviting certain family members for the holidays. Lots of FB unfriending going on too. Being in the bible belt and surrounded by conservatives all of this still has an effect on me. I wonder if I am alone in these feelings.

No you are not alone. The country hasn't been so divisive since the Civil War.

I remember it well, and felt much of the same. It seemed a fluke, even trump thought he’d lose.. Everyone was in shock, the entire world. There’s acquaintances and family members I’ve dumped … as I’ve felt a coming together of the best, the like minded, very much including our youth..

I’ve read through a number of posts, commenting on fewer than usual, but yours struck me as heartfelt and real. You’re not alone ~
