"What are godparents?"
That's a pretty shitty policy.
Ironic that I've been asked to be godfather to so many kids (of my Christian friends and family members) that I've lost count.

Technically, you can't be a God parent if you are not Catholic. During the ceremony, you are asked to help raise the child Catholic.
This is Information that I received many decades ago. So, take it with a grain of salt.

Uhhh...so some infant, who doesn't even have the concept of the number 2...or not to number 2 in it's diaper...can't have a friend or family member assigned to assist raising? I didn't know that...and it seems like a stupid rule. Seems like that's who SHOULD have godparents...since they are being raised without the guidance and brainwashing into ridiculous beliefs.
