Because making it all the victim's fault somehow is ever so much easier than facing the fact of climate change or even the fact that sometimes shit happens for no reason.
Also one wonders how one can "take God" -- you know, the omnipotent creator and ruler of the universe -- out of anything. Seems like a bit of a pushover.

my "religious right, Trump loving family' do not believe in Climate Change. They honestly believe it's just something the Democrats dreamed up. SMH
@charlotte62 One argument I've seen come up a few times from believers, is that saying humans can contribute to climate change is suggesting humans are more potent than god. They say this with zero irony. They believe the invisible sky wizard controls the weather, even here in the 21st century, when in fact it's a product of various causal chains, including ones that humans participate in. SMH, indeed!
So unbelievably stupid yet so predictable. You would think we are living in the middle ages and it seems to be getting worse. One could say it IS a god's fault because he forgot to give some people any brains.
