It was a hard book to read but I did and I love Kurt Vonnegut.

I remember this. Time to read some of him again.

I think so too.

Vonnegut has always been one of my favorite authors.

The military is important. WWII was one of the most important wars ever fought. Knowing the importance of the military this post is illogical in so many ways. If we didn't fight that war Jews would be nonexistent and Nazi's would rule the world. Do we fight wars for stupid reasons sometimes? yes. Should war be abolished? Someday maybe. Are there good reasons to go to war? Yes of course.

Soldiers in the trenches aren't fighting for high ideals, they are fighting for the other guys in their squad. The people who made the decisions to go to war didn't base those decisions on high ideals, they based them on profit and loss projections. So long as we keep attacking other countries we should start calling the government agency the Department of Global Attack instead of the Department of National Defense. My opinion, not necessarily yours.

Wars are decided by the ones profiting and controlling us.. any justification will perpetuate our willingness to be slaves to their agenda!
