There is a defense report written by lobbyists who claim the military need another 33B$ or the US is in grave danger. That would put the defense budget over $733B, which is more than the expenditure of eight countries that spend the most on defense, including Russia, China, India, and Japan. The US has nine aircraft carrier task forces whereas Russia has one and China two all smaller carriers than those of the US. The lobbyists are making over $200,000 each for this report, which claims it is for the troupes, but a soldier enters the military making less than $20,000 and may remain that low for six years. The troupes get nothing from the additional $33B. It goes to defense contractor share holders and CEOs, who are already rich.

A great American and republican president Dwight Eisenhower warned,

"In the councils of government, we must guard against the acquisition of unwarranted influence, whether sought or unsought, by the military-industrial complex. The potential for the disastrous rise of misplaced power exists and will persist. We must never let the weight of this combination endanger our liberties or democratic processes."

His fear has come true.
