Survey: Apple iPhone users are more likely to be emotional, egotistical liars

UPDATE: The comments below reveal the iphony owners, or their apologists.

Fess up: if you don't agree with the survey: post your iphony model.

And if you claim any other phone, you are a liar! πŸ˜‰

"""
But wait. There's more. The researches found that iPhone users display lower levels of honesty and humility and are more emotional than owners of other smartphone platforms. Overall, the survey would seem to imply that iPhone users are egotistical liars who are ready to go berserk at the drop of a hat. Android users, according to the survey, are older, more honest and even tempered, and are less likely to focus on money and status. They also are less likely to lie and break rules for personal gain.

Sorry, survey doesn’t jive with my personality as an iPhone user at all.

I really like what this survey has to say about Android users. It's true! (At least, it describes me.) I'm an Android user. I'm honest, even-tempered, and I truly don't focus on money or status, and won't lie to you. I might break the rules for a good cause.

When I first read your profile, I realized that you were the woman of my dreams. You possessed every quality I would want in a life companion. I was on cloud nine until I found out you have an Android phone. I recoiled in shock because I have an iPhone. I now realize that we can never be together. Though I am heartbroken at the thought that our phones prevent a relationship, I know that you will find an Android user who does not share the coarse qualities an iPhone owner has, but rather is refined and delightful to be around, thus ensuring a great relationship. I wish you all the best.

@yamaha45701 that is the sweetest and funniest thing to say! lol As of recently, I happen to fancy an iPhone user who seems pretty amazing. I like him A LOT! All IPhone guys secretly want to date an Android type of gal. Hehehe...

Tribalism behaviour: you could entice the same reaction by using car models, laptop brands, TV, clothing, neighbourhood, etc...

Lol. Pretty sure the difference comes down to whether or not you are status conscious.

Stop lying, you're making me feel bad, this technology in my pocket is my identity.

As a skeptic, I accept that the premise is possible, but the article it is based on does not include anything about the survey outside the results you like.

I have ad both and find benefit to both. I just like more strong evidence for a claim.

The iphony users are easy to identify by there responses.

All my exes are iPhone users. You might be on to something. Hehehe...

@Seeker3CO Hahaha... No, Hon.

I work in IT, people in tech view the newest best versions as status symbols that lasts for a few months until the next version is announced and then... I have a Note 8 which is over a year old - the horror! The Note 9 is a little better but soon Samsung will announce a foldable display model and I want to see that first. I've had at least 10 different Android phones.

I had an iPhone as a company phone once. I hated it so much I bought my own Android device and switched the SIM. That was a while ago and I'm open to considering an iPhone when I do switch. I'm not in the Apple ecosystem so there is an advantage to sticking with Android for me - I have all the apps I need...

Of course I need to check out the timing on 5G availability as that will obsolete all current phones except for one Motorola phone which will require a physical module upgrade when 5G is out. No other phones have 5G or are 5G ready yet. Don't worry, you'll still be able to used 4G, not sure about 3G though.

Correlation doth not causation mean...

My view is this. If you have a bunch of paid apps on either platform, stay with that platform.

Ramble over.

All I know is that iPhone users seem to get a bit peeved when I say 'You paid HOW MUCH?! BAHAHAHAHA!!'

Oh give me a break!

Sounds like jealousy to me.

I am an iPhone user. I am an Android user. So, I guess I'm an emotional, egotistical liar, who goes berserk at the drop of a hat, who's older, honest, even tempered, who's less likely to focus on money and status sometimes, but not always, and less likely to lie and break rules for personal gain sometimes.

Wow! I am an iPhone owner and I am still the same schmuck I was before owning any cell phone. I thought smart phones to be stupid things that people stayed glued to instead of watching what was in front of them. I still think that way in regard to all smart phones; all of them. The result of this research sounds fraudulent, but that is strictly my opinion and you know what they say about opinions, right? πŸ˜€

1

Could this be a case of spurious correlation?

Yes it probably is.

Narcissists.

I've had both types of phones. Many iPhone users are definitely very status conscious. Many exist because iPhones were the best deal when they got their first phone. The last time I looked there were $800 Androids out there too. I use a 250 dollar LG Android that does lots of nifty things. I would hope most of us on this site do not really categorize people on any one issue. Misspellings and grammatical errors are due solely to my voice recognition software ?.
