Most of the actors that auditioned for the role of Al Bundy on the sitcom Married with Children played him as angry and yelling. Ed O'Neil was the only one that portrayed him as a resigned loser

He did play the part back then so damn well that now it's actually hard to watch him in modern family as Sofia's husband. Something doesn't add up and yet, he have managed to keep the hottie's husband character alive and well. Maybe he really is a genius @Minta79 🙂

He is. Did you watch John From Cincinnati? (Don't, it was horrible, but... Ed O'Neil was brilliant.)

They're resurrecting TV shows all over the place these days. Rosanne.... Murphy Brown.... Magnum PI.... Hawaii Five-O.... Full House...... Why not Married With Children? Married With Grandchildren would kick ass.

Until recently Faustino was the hold up. In August he announced that "everyone was on board" for a reboot. I'm not sure how it would work around Ed O'Neil's Modern Family schedule, though.
