In this land where -10C is nowhere near unbearable (we have gone as low as -58C), it's now late afternoon and a warm 4C for this time of year. Have worked and run errands all day despite a sprained calf due to slipping on ice/snow. Now, I've been banned from doing anymore work and designated as an invalid for the rest of the day/night. Scotland is definitely on my bucket list, especially Edinburgh.

I'm in central North Carolina, USA, sun setting. It was a warm beautiful day today. I always wanted to visit Scotland. I love watching Shetland.

@darien75 yes, it is. I can watch it on Netflix.

Some of y'all live in places I'd love to see. Scotland is right near the top of that list because that's where my ancestry originates. My long gone grandmother, Effie, had a very thick accent when she spoke. She came from Edinburgh.

She was also very, let's call it, frugal. She grew up poor and despite having money after marrying my granddad, she always seemed to think poverty was right around the corner and lived her life in fear of it happening again.

It's about 10c in East Tennessee on a cloudy afternoon, but no rain at least. It's a quiet work week given the holiday on Thursday, and then all hell breaks loose on Black Friday. Is there a Black Friday equivalent in the UK?

@darien75 10c is not too cold for here. We will have a number days through the winter when the temperature stays well below freezing, but we don't get much snow. I moved here this year from Northern Virginia and I brought my snow shovel just in case, but hopefully I won't need it.

Well I'm not in North America lad. Just down the road in Lancs, England. I LOVE Scotland and Ayrshire is just my fav. I am part of a worker's coop at Doon of May, Near Newton Stewart. I wish I was there right now.

Its cold here, about 6C. I have found the weather is SW Scotland is often nicer than here...anyroad, nice to meet you

@darien75 Will do
