Hey guys! What things have you found that actually lure your teenagers out of hiding and into family time?

Couldn't tell ya as I have no kids and never will. But from the non-parent side might I suggest 'having conversations they can actually contribute to?'. Nothing makes a person tune out faster than blithering about something they know and care nothing about. I didn't give two shits about who said this, who did that, and who was related to whom. All it was was gossip, gossip, gossip about people I never even met.

I would have welcomed talk about politics or current events.

Oh, and the thing that really made me want to tear out my hair was when they'd talk about so and so's medical procedure, I'd ask something about it, and they'd just stare blankly at me and tell me they had no idea what I was talking about.

My nephews and nieces always comes running when I cook for them. That is when they speak about school, dreams and a variety of subjects. They only like me for my cooking, LOL.

Food usually works well.

Disable WIFI, and cable, and never allow food in their rooms.

But first, login and disable their phone, then the wifi and cable.

Pulling the AC breaker to their room takes care of everything else electrical.

@FlippantLlama Well yesterday I could have given you a solid well thought out answer. However my youngest turned 20 today so I have nothing but porn to offer.

Gee, that's a tough one..... It was like mission impossible when they were still at home. I had to compete against Facebook, Instagram, Hulu, Netfkix, video games.....it wasn't easy and I don't think I can say I ever found the answer
