So I co-write a blog with a friend with some different political views than myself. Today he wrote a post saying that the Trump motorcade would bring us together as a country. He neglected to mention the obvious parallels to the Hitler regime and the normalization of the absurd. It seems some people are so ravenous for a kumbaya moment that they will justify a gross expenditure that could be used for so many better causes in our country. He asked me not to link the article in this forum. Now we are not the New York Times or The Washington Post and I doubt anyone will read this article. What do you think?

Link to blog?

There are a lot of people who seem to equate the ability to kill many peoples in foreign lands with "freedom." I am not one of those people.

There is no way this is a uniter. Zero chance. People on my side see this as La Naranja wanting to be a military dictator.

If the billionaires create 25 million new good jobs TrumpOLINI will be re-elected because Democrats have no plan just complaints and lies covering up Billary crimes. ...long long ago have Democrats fought with labor unions for living wages and cleaning up pollution. ...the BlueREDS have sold their souls to Goldman Sachs and zionism. ....I have little hope TrumpOLINI will demand HR 676 MEDICARE4all to fulfill his promise EVERYONE WILL BE COVERED for Healthcare. ...a weapons parade along US 50 to the Capitol from Pentagon and back into Virginia is an obscene fascist goal poisoning the MALL and monuments along the way

Why is he afraid to have it posted ?
Personally, I'm phasing trumpies out of my little circle..

He actually isn't a Trump supporter. He says he is playing the devil's advocate and says there is too much division... Partisanship... We all need to come together... Etc. He identifies as center-right which I agree with. He is in a hospital and is tired of fighting on these posts...

It's reality TV that has ruined discourse in this country. "There is a cult of ignorance in the United States, and there always has been. The strain of anti-intellectualism has been a constant thread winding its way through our political and cultural life, nurtured by the false notion that democracy means that "my ignorance is just as good as your knowledge."" Issac Asimov.

@SACatWalker good luck finding one. lol.

The absurd is becoming routine now.

I told him as journalists we should have a voice in shutting that down.

Are you sure that isn't fake news? @UrsiMajor

@LEPeff lol I'm not sure about anything anymore...
