We all know someone, not very bright, who just bumbles through life happy with the low skilled job they have been doing for decades. There is part of me that is jealous of that ability. Here's a question...
Are highly intelligent people less happy than individuals with average intelligence?
The happiest people l have known don't get involved with too much of other peoples business, don't care about politics, or watch the news. These folks have covered the spectrum of education. I once went six months without watching the news, and l was definitely less stressed. It was obvious to me. To be honest about it, if l had been detached from those things during my life, it would not have changed anything in my life except my disposition.
I don't know. How happy are highly intelligent people? One of them has to tell me.
Which one of us?
Wow class shame much?
And yes I'm my experience they are less happy.
Right? "Look at those poor, stupid, low class workers. Where do they get off not being horribly miserable? Now get the butler to fetch my slippers!"
I'm not sure it's purely an intelligence factor that determines easier contentment. It seems that those that are more curious, with many deep interests , and a healthy dose of needing excitement, are the ones that are constantly seeking the next adventure/job/partner/experience etc.
