Film recommendation: Border
This 2018 Swedish film is a dark fantasy about what might be called "an alternative race" (I don't want to give spoilers). TIna, a frumpy customs inspector, has an atypical appearance and an amazing sense of smell. The film was written by the same author of "Let The Right One In" and there are some similarities between the two films (with a little bit of Eraserhead thrown in). It's not violent but there are creepy parts. Amazing performances and makeup and, ultimately, a very moving work about identity and kinship. I highly recommend it if you have a slightly twisted yet loving sensibility. Sure to be a cult classic.
