What is the best method for finding a job that gives you a sense of purpose and pays enough to enjoy a lifestyle you desire?

I am trying to reinvent myself. I have 2 degrees in fields that are not exactly apolitical and I honestly want to find something fulfilling without having to drastically reduce my ability to live a lifestyle that I enjoy (travel, living in a house not apartment or room-share etc).

How does a person with intelligence, integrity, strong character and experience reinvent herself?

My father always told me that the work that brings you pleasure is not work, but entertainment with profit. I took it to myself and after school I started thinking about what I want, what I like and how to monetize it. I came to the conclusion that work was absolutely not for me, I didn't want to work, I wanted to live. Unfortunately, you have to pay for life, and you have to pay twice for a good life. I was looking for ways to solve my life issue and my friend advised me to try myself on the Internet. I started searching and found games to earn money on the Internet. At first I was suspicious of these games, but then I realized that if you figure it out, it will bring income. Now I travel, I live for my own pleasure, and I earn money on the phone.

The most important thing is to find yourself in this world

When it comes to finances , there are three important concepts : How to earn it , how to invest it , and how not to spend it . Anyone can easily throw their money away . Had a friend who was earning $10,000 a year , but stopped in at Starbucks every morning on her way to work . When I heard her complaining about her pitiful income , I recommended that she apply for other jobs . Her comment was that she wasn't going to quit her job , in this economy . Who said anything about quitting her job ? I told her , the best time to get a better job , is when you're already have a job . It puts you in a better bargaining position . Once you have improved your job , then you let your current employer that you're quitting . Decide what field you want to work in , check to see what the income in that field will be , then take some courses , to see if it's likely to be as interesting work as you think , then start applying . And learn not to waste the income you do have on instant gratification . Plan for your long term satisfaction .

Have done it many times, I change jobs usually to a new field, this means more study but I find having recently finished study in a field I am very enthusiastic about the new industry and get a job quickly. The other thing I usually do at the same time is move to a new region, I find that also seems to open doors, I get interviews for just about every application in a new area. Also, I usually move to a less expensive area, so more house for my dollars.
Another option is to teach, here we can add teaching to existing quals and teach formally in our fields.

I’m still astonished by the thought of having a lifestyle worth saving. I gotta get me one of those.

When younger thought I had found my dream job managing a health club. Absolutely hated it. Found a job I can tolerate that pays well with good benefits so I can afford my hobbies. For me making money while working at something I like or love kind of ruins it.

I am in that process

How is it going?

@Donna_I similat to Akfishlady, I think my age is against me in my previous profession. I am thinking about teaching conversational English online. I just have to get myself together

@btroje best of luck!

Are you burned out on your current career? I am getting VERY tired of corporate crap myself and thinking of making a change. I was leaning toward delving into my art since my retirement is mostly funded. I still will need money for my dreams of travel and to support medical for my self and my not yet 25 YO kids... So, no answers, really, just recognition between the lines of what you wrote.
