Smart dress shows how often women are groped at clubs.

The article is at the first link (quartzy) while the video about the project was embedded in the article. I have copied that link here as well (twitter)

Finally, although this was done in Brazil, it is food for thought for regardless of location.

Wow! 😟

I donated my body to science so parts of me will live on somewhere somehow but I'll have no idea how or where. I don't believe in an afterlife nor do I believe in expensive funerals.

I live in a locale where it's customary to hug, kiss or affectionately touch all acquaintances (male or female) as a matter of norm, but after 9pm when the strangers come out, it seems there's a contest to see how many women the visiting men can touch. I see it with the young gals, but it also happens to me at my age. Glad there is some awareness being circulated.

So, women dress to be groped, are groped, and complain about being grouped.

Clear thinking ,and precise responses.

You lost me at the first statement - No woman dresses to be groped.

Even if she were to wear a bikini in the club (at her own choice) - that does not give anyone permission to invade her space and touch her without permission.

@RPardoe " No woman dresses to be groped."

Duh! read the literature.

Reality: All women are not the same.

@Jacar Shakes head...you don't get it at all. Would rather be pedantic on the use of the word "no" for emphasis while ignoring the rest of my comment.

@RPardoe . . . sad for you that you don't get it. Women dress and makeup for reasons that are about being attractive, and then go places for the purpose of attracting.

Should they be groped? I think not without their permission. But to say they are not complicit reveals a perspective without observation.

we live in a society where someone was made to think of this idea. (I'm sorry this is a thing... had to say that twice today)

I guess it's a good job I don't go to clubs.

Ok now that there’s a base line I’d like to see it taken a bar where women go to meet other women and let’s see just how much better women behave shall we.

Or going to a male strip revue and see how they act...

@SpikeTalon You’re talking about the women in the audience? I’ve heard some crazy shit from one of my first wife’s friends that worked the bar but it’s the guys fault for having a banana in the hammock. ?

@Alshaytan Indeed. In my twenties I entertained at a few hen parties and I could tell you firsthand alot of women act no different than men when at such events.

@SpikeTalon Well guess that one day the idea of being equal will be an honest one. That both sides will declare that men and women are equally capable of committing good and evil.

Ha! You'll have to find one, first. Lesbian bars/clubs/etc are a dying breed.

@memorylikeasieve Actually I know where one is and I know someone who use to frequent it back when she wasn’t sure about her sexuality well that and before her girlfriend beat, raped and sodomized her for talking with her ex.
But yeah they’re not a dime a dozen

Excellent. Men should treat all women with respect.

Since age 15 when I developed breasts, I have been repeatedly grabbed, sexually harassed, sexually abused, kissed against my will, stalked by two men, catcalled, and nearly raped by a male supervisor at two different workplaces: the YMCA and a retail office.

Both men pinned me against a wall by my throat. They overpowered me with their height and weight. When they let go with one hand to unbuckle their belt, I broke free and ran. I never returned to the retail office to pick up my paycheck because we worked alone.

As a result, I have PTSD and anxiety.

@MichaelSpinler

Thank you, Michael. I appreciate your support.

this burdens my mind... sorry that has happened to you.

@Lukian

Thank you.
