I highly recommend this book about critical thinking: [amazon.com]

I haven't been able to get my hands on it too much yet. My son started reading it and won't give it back until he finishes. He isn't much of a reader so it must be a very compelling book. We discussed parts of it as he read. I am familiar with much of the content from their podcast, so I feel that I can recommend it even though I haven't been able to finish it myself.

Educated by Tara Westover...an interesting look at what happens when certain groups decide that education is not important and how this one woman overcame this obstacle...

Rent Collector by Cameron Wright...a look at the lives of Cambodians living on landfills...inspiring and depressing

Soul of an Octopus by Sy Montgomery...just read it...lol

I am re-reading my childhood favorite, the Sherlock Holmes series by Conan Doyle.
Do you know that not only are they accurate snapshots of the late-Victorian era, but also actually heavily influenced modern detection?

Fantasy: All from Terry Pratchett's Discworld (Starting from the colour of magic)
Sci-Fi - Anything from Asimov
Science: *The Demon-Haunted World😘 Science as a Candle in the Dark by (our lord) Carl Sagan - Importance of science literacy
The Selfish Gene by (one of his horseman) Richard Dawkins. - Evolution and an amazing view of life as it is without romantic views or meanings.
Sapiens: A Brief History of Humankind by Yuval Noah Harari - How we created and developed society from the biological to the complex cultural structure.
Guns, Germs, and Steel: The Fates of Human Societies by Jared Diamond. - How societies developed and why some were so ahead of others

And if you like History (mainly from the world region where now is UK) go for Bernard Cornwell and one of his sagas Arthur on the saxionian invasion, Saxoninc cronicles on the nordic invasion, Archer saga (or holy grail) on the 100 year wars, or Sharpe at the Napoleonic wars.

Also for understanding the world and its hidden mechanisms of control ans manipulation I recommend the 3 (in any order).
Animal Farm, 1984 and Brave New World.

Oh yeah i was thinking about animal farm i heard its great

I'm still reading "Fear - Trump in the White House" by Bob Woodward. I let the computer read me a chapter of two a day. (Using the Mark voice now.) Then I have various atheist books that it reads me, including works of Carl Sagan. I recently got a Christopher Hitchins collection.
