I'm new here and senile as well so this may seem like a silly question: how close is the connection between this site and agnostic.com? If you post in one site does your post automatically appear in the other?

I’m okay with that. Both names work for me.

Thank you for this post. I didn't know that this was also humanist.com.

To me this is Agnostic.com

You can change your settings to not show up in the other if you want. I hear it doesn't work though.

@MsAl It hides your profile from being searched, and perhaps your posts (not sure just yet), but all of your comments are completely visible to anyone who doesn't have you blocked personally. That is to say, only those that have blocked you cannot see everything you have ever said on agnostic.com.

We are direct real time mirrors of each other, sitewise. That is to say, anything and everything you contribute to humanist.com appears instantly on agnostic.com, and vice versa. Effectively, we are the same site with two different names. And, for the record, some of us aren't very happy about it, myself included. I have nothing against humanist or humanists, per sé, but I am not one myself, Strictly speaking... But, then again, I'm not an agnostic either.

I'm not happy about it either. I would like to be a member of both, but I feel that it's not the same. It implies that people without religion are accapting and caring to all humans different than themselves and I find it to be the opposite for many.

@MsAl As do I, and it is precisely the core of my complaint against it. I couldn't agree more.

Uhhhh there’s a humanist.com? I thought OP didn’t know what he’s talking about.....turns out I don’t

@Marcie1974 it's there, it's live, and it's all of our info duplicated without our consent or the ability to truly opt out instead of being given the option to opt in in the first place if we so choose. And what's worse is that if you delete your profile from humanist, you will also be deleting your profile from agnostic too. We don't even have that as an option.

@Marcie1974 Just figured it out the other day myself.

@MsAl wow

@MsAl blow my mind. I just logged in to humanist.com w/my Agnostic.com login and there I am. All is identical but for the theme color. Wait. So does that mean I get two t-shirts at level 8?!?!?

@Bobbyzen seems like the least they could do, doesn't it?

@Redcraze If you do that, because we are direct mirrors of each other, you will effectively be deleting both profiles from both sites.

@Redcraze Nope. Not unless they are two different accounts entirely (i.e. four total accounts, two on each site), then you could delete the one account (pair of accounts, because of the mirror thing), you don't want/use.

@Redcraze I hear ya, buddy.

Hellbent, that you again?

So far from what I can tell, there's not much difference between Humanist and Agnostic.com, I think the same profile could be shared on both sites. There might be a setting to hide your profile from showing up on Humanist.com, not sure though.

@Davethecave Hey Dave, been hanging out lately on the dark side of the moon.
