Any nihilist around here?
I'm a positive nihilist. I find the fact that there is no plan liberating and I like to actively celebrate the fact that the fact we exist is so ridiculously improbable.
From a humanist, intellectual viewpoint, life is meaningless.
The entire objective of all organic life is the replication and propagation of genetic code. All organisms, including humans, are slaves to this objective.
Our "intelligence" and technology enable us to serve this objective so effectively that we are steadily and inevitably displacing all other major species. We are destroying the biosphere in the process. This makes me ashamed to be a member of our species.
Contrary to the recent statements of some “visionaries”, Earth's biosphere is the ONLY environment wherein humanity will ever be able to survive and thrive.
