I keep getting told to wait it out, I keep getting told that we can't afford this custody battle, that my stepson will eventually come out about being molested by my mother in law and that things will sort themselves out when that happens. We are told that we can't bring that kind of thing up in court due to the commonality of lies in custody battles and the lack of willingness to investigate that come with such. We need a better lawyer but can't afford one, we need a guardian ad litem but can't afford one...........

We paid 10k for a Guardian Ad Litum. My son told her about being tortured by his psychotic mother from age 4 to age 10, and the GAL called him a liar. Now the GAL is a judge. The incompetence, negligence, and dishonesty in family law courtrooms is mind boggling.

Many states have Guardian ad litem at no cost to you, ask!
Also make a report of the abuse to Child Protective Services (or whatever they call it in your state.) Let No One tell you your claim will be discounted!!! There is probably a free hotline for such reporting. The State will investigate, at no cost to you. Someone is attempting to scare you with "costs" when in fact most should be Free! Ask yourself why?!

@Secular_Squirrel had the same problem here (CT) for years in involving my grandsons.....inexplicable "reuniting" right after mom failing both drug & alcohol tests. But putting it on record builds a casefile, very important in the long run. And I can Guarantee doing nothing results in Nothing!

@Secular_Squirrel I have been dirt poor, but If You Ask there is lots of Free help.......and kids are more important than money!
You seem to believe "can't" is a word to live/not act by...it is Not!

Have you looked into legal aid?
If you believe the child is at risk and you’ve witnessed something it should be reported to the authorities. They take it from there.

Try a go fund me and/or since you believe that your child may be at risk you should look into lawyers that specialize in children’s rights.
Some will do pro bono and usually have their own investigators as well as they might work separately from your divorce attorney.

@Secular_Squirrel My suggestions are the best that I can offer you or anyone else who’s in your situation and I do hope that someone can help y’all but you’re gonna have to initiate this if you want to protect your child.

@Secular_Squirrel it would be natural for him to have on some level enjoyed the attention/thrikks... Not a reason to not procedped!
