Aaah, an old and familiar joke, which I first heard some 30 years ago while serving in the military and meeting a recent graduate of the Defense Language Institute (DLI) in Monterey, California. My friend had entered only understanding English, and graduated top of his class, fluent in Arabic. Truly, he was a cunning linguist!
