Honestly, I joined to meet smart, non-religious guys here, not really to just chat. I have lots of friends to chat with live and on Facebook; most are A’s. So how does one use this site for just dating? It seems more like an old-fashioned chat room, which is great, but I don’t have time for that really. Thoughts?

You have to start somewhere and chatting is a good place. Surely you just don't want anybody.

Your profile and photos are an advertisement to attract the kind of man you want to date.

Internet dating is a written, visual medium. Write in short paragraphs. Nobody wants to read a wall of words.

Who is the man with his arm around you? Delete that photo. It looks like you're married to an older man.

In your profile, describe your strengths and good qualities. Tell activities you enjoy and would enjoy doing with a man. Talk about the kind of man you want to meet using personality traits.

What matters more than anything when it comes to your online dating profile? One word: Photos. Photos can drastically increase your chances of getting more communication and dates. Or not.

You have 3 seconds to make a good impression. Men will see your main photo as a tiny pic the size of a saltine cracker on their cell phone screens. If your main photo is not clear, bright and attractive, they move on.

Your main photo should be a head-and-shoulder shot, showing you SMILING and looking at the camera. You also need one full body shot, again taken outdoors and smiling.

Other pictures should show you outdoors, doing activities you enjoy. No hats, sunglasses, alcohol or stupid poses. Caption and date your photos to make them more interesting and clear.

I think you should get a job in the dating industry. You got it girl.

Thank you. As a marketing director, I won three national awards for creative marketing. As a writer, my first book was published in 2008. This makes me good at:

  1. As a volunteer, helping low income, first generation students write essays for college entry and scholarship applications.

  2. Teaching students how to sell themselves to scholarship committees and colleges.

  3. Witing dating profiles. It's basically an advertisement.

Use it like any other dating site ... search for men in the geographical are you want. The bonus here is that most have been pre-screened as non-Christian. You can also view posts and comments to get to know someone better. Its a relelatively new site so the pool is not very large.

If you don't like it, you don't have to stay

Depending on your geographic location, in many locations this site lacks a sufficient user base to find someone within a reasonable range of miles.

I live in the middle of a blackened (religious) wasteland of theists and Republicans so I have no anticipation of ever meeting a similar minded person via this site or my any other means.

I am here to share ideas with similar minds and defend rational thought against the occasional theists that leave their faith (belief without evidence) based slimy stench trails on these pages.

Time is indeed a limited commodity that must be valued accordingly.

Hope you find what you are looking for.

I'm here for community. I probably would have given up on the site a long time ago, if I were here to find romance. I've considered changing my settings, but I think that would just lead to frustration and my departure.

i don't think it works like that. i think people find each other for dating here by chatting. i rather like that idea, though i am not here for dating, myself; if i were, i'd sure rather find out how prospective guyfriends thought and felt by chatting in a group first before getting personal one-on-one! so my take on it is that you use the chatrooms to find guys, not by making posts like "anyone out there for me?" (which i have seen -- oy, that does NOT work!) but by reading and chatting about things that interest you and seeing who else shares not only your interests but your basic mindset, and then seeing if there is a mutual attraction hiding there.

(as for having enough time, well, didn't diana ross sing that you can't hurry love?)
