The following is a letter which I am sending to Florida's two Republican senators. I urge you to consider copying it and sending it to any Republican senators your state has:

You proclaim yourself to be both a conservative and a patriot. As a conservative, you purportedly seek to uphold basic standards of moral conduct, honesty and integrity, and civility. As a patriot, you purportedly seek to act in a manner which upholds and advances the well-being and safety of our country and people. Therein lies the rub.
It has become painfully clear that there is NO way that you can continue to support Donald Trump and still be a true conservative and patriot. Mr. Trump has already proven that he is incapable of exercising critical thinking, effective decision-making, and any semblance of moral conduct. That clearly puts our country and our people at risk. He and far too many members of his administration constantly lie, abuse the press, and engage in divisive and inflammatory conduct. That is a threat to our democracy, to our country, and to conservative values.
Mr. Trump, already hampered by a very limited attention span and having difficulty focusing on issues which address the needs of our people and country, is now faced with deadly serious and legitimate investigations into many possible instances of criminal conduct on his part. It is already reaching the point that his attention is focused more on protecting himself than on the serious matter of state which are required of the president, And, the pressure of these investigations will only increase as more and more evidence develops, and Mr. Trump's emotional stability is likely to decline considerably. That puts our country and people at risk.

You are clearly faced with a choice. Either you start showing both the moral courage and patriotism to stop ignoring and condoning and supporting d Mr. Trump's illegal and corrupt behavior am ill advised policies and actions, or you will be branded as just another spineless politician in it for himself. If you continue on your present course, your political future is rightfully limited, as is that of the entire Republican party.
