I don't see anything particularly disturbing about it. Knowing the tech exists, just stop relying on photos for information and identification. Facial recognition, retinal scans, palm scans, DNA ID machines, and so forth eliminate the need for photo ID. One knows, or should at least assume, that the tech will find its way into the unscrupulous among us, so just don't rely on it for anything but entertainment. Problem solved.
