So...since July, I've had an up and down journey with a local lady. She is foreign/had obstacles, but has a real live life to the fullest attitude! Be your best, look your best, explore etc, etc. Me? Coming off the loss of my wife is still a challenge in the opposite direction of that. However, after 2-3 break ups, we have had good conversations about falling in, or sabatoging a relationship. Maybe I was subconsciously sabatoging the relationship out of guilt and loss....perhaps. She is picky and fussy, but certainly not break up items. Where are we now? A pretty good place. I'm starting to enjoy life again and let go. Just thought I share. It's been awhile since I've posted.

Be up front with your new Woman, tell her you have a place in your heart for her, next to your late wife.she will understand(hopefully).

Good to hear that you have been communicating but seems like she has her own problems to deal with. Wishing you love and happiness no matter where it comes from.

Just enjoy the time together and see where it goes.

Good luck out there. Live for you. Be true to yourself. Things will fall in place.

A loss due to death or divorce; Which is worse? A divorce.may have the partners bump into one another, unless one moves away, Death is forever,(however the Heaven aspect of the afterlife, is strong in many people).

@Ron_R Mine after 27 years(no kids) Sept.13th 2017...... Less waterworks, still get misty at times, grieving is different for each of us.

@Ron_R Perfumes, favorite songs, eating places we used to go to,all I avoid, maybe with new love the hurt will diminish, but the memories are part of us......

The "Adjustment period",as in a marriage, can be very stressful, finding out the "fit",personalities, foods, places to go, and cultures,as you said, she's "Not from around here".

Well at least you are thinking about it. None of life is easy.

Relationships take work - always! Dan and I are going through some medical and legal challenges. Can only make our bond stronger.
